The "Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana" (KVPY) is a program started in 1999 by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India to encourage students to take up research careers in Basic Sciences, Engineering and Medicine. The aim of the program is to identify and encourage talented and motivated students to pursue career in research and development in India. It is a national level scholarship exam.

The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national level scholarship program in India started in the year 1963. The examination is conducted by the National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT). It is one of the most prestigious scholarship examinations in India.
